NABJ Social Media Manager/Creator
UO NABJ is the National Association of Black Journalist University of Oregon Chapter. For the club, I am in charge of running the social media pages on instagram and twitter. I post updates on via stories to notify people what we have going on weekly. I create stories/posts and go to different events to make sure that NABJ has the opportunity to have an input of what is going on around the campus and community. I am also a creator for the club where I can create and collaborate with the members who have bright minds and are full of ideas.
The Panel for NABJ
The Panel was a discussion that myself, Ameer Safadi, Shyann Montgomery, and Mercedes Wright created for The NABJ University of Oregon Chapter website. The panel involved four POC (People Of Color) clubs where they discussed topics that were important to each of them. They spoke in front of a crowd of audience that was captivated by the diverse conversation that was taking place. The process pushed me to be a planner and how to make sure everything ran smoothly. I had to push my limits for having to promote an event and make sure everything ran smoothly and have everything that had to happen in order for The Panel to run smoothly double and triple checked.
The first video that I have ever created was to commemorate my friend, John Keller. Keller is pursuing a masters degree in psychology at Grand Canyon University. He Is looking to have a future in coaching where he can be a role model to youth that are growing up in rough neighborhoods. The video process and editing process taught me how to better understand the crafting of making projects that I care about.
