TakingUpSpace is a multicultural advertising club that takes an emphasis on creating workshops for students who are uncomfortable with being at an institution that is predominantly white.
I was the social media director for the club where I designed social posts and I was also responsible of keeping updates on our social media platforms. I also was the club outreach coordinator where I was in charge of making connections with other clubs on campus.
Our club was a representative of MAIP where students could lean on us for help with the application process. MAIP is an advertising internship program for multicultural students where you get hand picked by agencies to be their summer intern.
Our first workshop that we hosted for the 2020-2021 school year was a MAIP informational that allowed people to come in and show their portfolios and also ask any questions that we could possibly answer. I was responsible of the social media promotion and also helping out with the slideshow that we presented.
